Hey Matt.
i also go to buy a camera this week.
you have 2 types of camera's (here in holland)
one on batteries and one on an accu(big rechargable battery).
i am thinking to buy the canon powershot a590is.
it is with normal batteries,you can also buy batteries in the USA(www.walmart.com)
they have a powernetwork of 110volt in the USA.you can also ask your local-photocamera dealer if the accu works in the US
