Question about traveling while off days

hi,
is it possible on my off days to travel (by plane) to Chicago. I ask ´cause I have friends which I like to visit while I am in the US. For just 3-4 days or maybe just a weekend. Is that possible? If yes, is it poss. to get last minute plane tickets, since I don´t now when I´m off?

I´m really looking forward to my stay with ACE CA.. Only 139 days left.
