the only dangerous animals I'd be worried about are drunken Germans. only joking? Sorry, Annelie!
But seriously, ACE encounters with ferocious beasts are very limited. Sure we've seen some bears (rare instances in the White Mountains & Yosemite & Tetons), our share of rattlesnakes (more bark than bite), scorpions, and spiders. Every project safety meeting addresses "dangerous" creatures that one may face during the course of work. Relax and breathe easy. You're totally safe if you do what we tell you to do.
Annelie has been a volunteer for too long. She knows more than I do.
