Something very personally satisfying!!! On Friday, May 25th, my younger brother Mark was sworn in as a Professional Firefighter for the Philadelphia Fire Department. This was the first time ever in the history of the Department(the first Professional Fire Department in the country,started by Ben Franklin and a small group of Volunteer Firefighters) that 2 Cadet classes graduated at the same time. Mark was 1 of 86 Cadets in the 183rd Philadelphia Fire Academy Cadet class. The 184th graduated 84 Cadets. As you can imagine, 170 Cadets marching in unison and responding to questions of the Fire Commissioner, with their, "YES SIR"/"NO SIR", made the Auditorium at the University of Pennsylvania rumble. I know the hair on the back of my neck was standing on end!!! This was one of the proudest days of my life, for many personal reasons and I just wanted to share with my friends here, just how proud of my brother Mark, I am. You did it Bro....you followed in my footsteps and now I can live vicariously through you. I love ya buddy!!!!!!!!!!
