Back in the day, neos were BIG at 27 inches and 150lbs, now thats being considered small. They are being crossed with english mastiff for size, and nothing else. But, theres more to this. The acromeglic features this breed sports is in itself UN NATURAL!!! Acromeglic features, tons of wrinkles, excessively loose skin etc. With this Acromeglic state, comes flaws in size, bone mass, and HEALTH ISSUES!!!! It is a well known fact, an ACCEPTED FACT that neos die because their hearts are perferated. Running around and fine 1 second, and literally dead the next. How can that be an acceptable form of death?? How can it be acceptable to know your going to pay $5000 for a dog who might not even live to 12 months old due to genetic deformities?? I know, any dog of any price can die at any time, BUT its known NEOS of today regularily die at 3 yrs old. YOU see, when you breed acromeglic to acromeglic, you get shorter squattier dogs, with too much bone and wrinkles and skin, and loose size and weight, so they try to mask it by adding in OEM, which is where your BLACK BRINDLE NEOS COME FROM!!!!! So, this is where these huge 31 inch 250lbs neos are now coming from. I wonder why they added in the new blood, oh wait, to FIX WHAT THE PURITY THEORY SCREWED UP!!!! Mike

Purity theories..... this is 1 of the many things killing our dogs today. Lets look at what a purity theory is. Its the theory, that a breed of dog, lets just use the Labrador, can only be a labrador if it is a labxlabxlabxlabxlabxlabxlab and so on and so forth for X amount of generations. What people are neglecting to remember, or just flat out are ignorant to, when you breed lab to lab to lab you are setting a type, yes, BUT, with out the adition of any foriegn blood, you are also limiting the amount of Things your dogs immune system are capable of handling, physical deformities due to inbreeding/linbreeding for only certain things, and mental weakness due to again, only breeding lab x lab x lab for so many generations, that in 1 way shape or form, its all relatives screwing eachother. How can problems NOT arise?? Now, im Not singling Labradors out, i just used them as an example, substitue any ""PURE"" breed, and youll get the same thing.
Lets take a look at the dogs whose PURITY has caused them GREAT deformities and health and physical issues. FIRST off, the English bulldog. WOW, a great justice has been done to this breed. When 1 thinks BULLDOG, they think of a big, formiddable dog who can run and jump on bulls and cattle all day, and when thats done, go keep strangers off their owners property. Not exactly what todays english bulldog is. They CAN NOT reproduce naturally.. How is that a quality trait?? They cant breathe due to being the shape they are, and the massive bracecephylic styling of the head. They were bred with DISEASE in mind, so they would get a squatter shorter stockier dog, lemme rephrase that, bred with DISEASE IN MIND!!!! These ""dogs"" cant run, jump, or do ANYTHING cept sleep for any vast periods of time. How is that good qualities?? Good job purity has done there.
There are a few others that could be gone into, like the shar pei (my brother owns 1), your pekingeese, pug, so on and so forth, but the point has been made. PURE to PURE to PURE to PURE to PURE is not only a very very risky endeavor, but its detrimental to the ""breed"" your breeding. PLUS, its just a marketing ply, to say oh i have the purest blah de blah so you must pay me your first born child to own 1 of my dogs wholl die at 9 months from a heart attack, or who cant be in the sun, or is allergic to grass, or whatever the reason, but must be in a lazy boy recliner in 62* farenheit climate all day long and fed caviar and evain water so hell live to 2 yrs old. BULLSHIIT!!! If it was truly survival of the fittest, these so called PURE BRED DOGS would be first to go. Cant breed naturally, our ancestors would be rolling in their graves, and sick their dogs on us and ours dogs to kill us all off.
The next part of this is a bit more tricky. Breeds.... After my 2 yrs here, and 12 yrs in the dog game, ive come to this conclusion. Its not about breeds, breeds suck and should be done away with. It should be Types. Shepherding type dog, Livestock type dogs, hunting type of dogs, fighting types etc etc etc etc.. Lets look at it like this. Perfect examples, sarplaninac and deltari illir. The same dog, but the only thing being that 1 sanction wants to call it 1 thing, and the other something else, and bam, 2 breeds out of 1 DOG?? Hows this possible?? Now, obviously, there are regional differences, sizes etc, but when you catergorize into breeds instead of Types, you get into purity, and then it all goes to hell. I feel, jus like in the racing horse world, there should be acceptable crosses to be considered the same thing. Like with the sylvan, it could be a sylvan/rottie/sop cross, but itd be called a sylvan, due to having actual sylvan blood. Also, i think appropriate out crosses should be ""standardized"" if you will, so we wont lose what little we have left as it is. Say you have a true GSD, sloping back and all, and you realize how much that hinders, then you add into your lines dogs of gsd/mal, gsd/dutchie gsd/rottie to help clean up many of the health issues, you should still be able to call them GSD, if you wanna stick to the BREEDIST mentality. If it cleans up your stocks flaws, why the hell not add it in there?? Then you take the ""mixed"" offspring and cross it to the ""pure"" example and go from there. IT will FIX problems. But, you cant sell these dogs then for $10,000 a pop, and make a living off it, instead of having a damned job. But thats a whole nother can of worms we can start a topic on later in time. Just my $.02
