Posted by Samara on 6/14/2003, 2:39 pm I am from Italy and my company is working with persian companies in Teheran. I am learning arabic (egyptian dialect) since some years and would like to know, how far arabic is similar to persian. If I am writing in my business letters things like "ahalan wa sahalan", "shokran", etc. will our persian customers understand and appreciate this, or are these two languages completely different? Would it better to write only in english? Do persians understand and like the arabic language or is arabic a complete foreign language for them? What do you mean? I certainly know that Persia is not Egypt and that there are big differences, but I would like to show our customers that we are also interested in other cultures, that we know their letters and alphabet and also some words. I would be happy if you could give me your opinion. Thanks a lot. Samara
