Chapter One begins with the simple reality that whatever you say and however you describe it, it is not "the dao." Mystics of all ages and of all paths recognize this. This is the one universally agreed upon tenet of all mystics: that the Ultimate-Whatever-The-Hell-You-Want-To-Call-It is ineffable. Not speakable.
Only fools (like those of us on these boards) attempt to speak it.401
