Again, I suggest we can't assume anything...i.e. that ants act "spontaneously and without pretension". It's entirely possible that ants have their little personalities, strengths & maladaptions and who knows?! perhaps even pretensions. Again, we just...can't...know. So to me, it seems you're building your conclusions on possibly false premise, definitely unproven/unprovable. Just saying...
