Greetings Wayne L.
It seems to me that most humans perceive reality through dualism. This is where we function in the dance of cause and effect. Once we venture into the realm of Monism the creative mind tries to replace analysis with figurative concepts.
When the Pairing of the Two, the Two as One becomes the Gateway to Secret of Life perhaps a level of insanity is reached. Insane in that perception is then not mutually agreeable.
Because our eyes are basically the same what we see might be consistent but our mental processing is determined by its pathways.
Gar likes to tell self " enjoy the illusion" for Tao is the master magician.
