: I suppose we all need our guru's.
:
: It seems when we are expanding our minds, to
: sense the boundless, any ship that sails is
: worthy. However without our feet on the
: earth our heads might lead us to
: destruction.
:
: in peace,
: gar
:
:
:
: Without one foot on the ground you become a
: Space-Cadet.
:
:
: rat & friends,
:
: The guru's job is to get us to a place where
: we realize we don't need a guru. To a place
: where we become our own guru.
:
: I could be wrong but I think this is all
: Osho was trying to do. Get rich people to
: realize things are just things.
:
: Yes, I am a fan of Osho. Of his writings. As
: for his life he never pretended to be
: anything other than a spiritual rebel. It
: seems to me our world is in need of
: spiritual rebellion. Rebellion against
: religious dogma, against the religious
: mindset.
:
: Personally, I find it refreshing when a
: person like Osho says, "Here I am, take
: me or leave me. Idiosynchracies and
: all."
:
: We all have our quirks. No, the Hannibal
: Lector's of the world are not quirky. They
: are quite mad. It is senseless to suggest
: otherwise. Idiotic even. A idiosynchracy
: gone too far. Think Hitler. Or even just
: your everyday PedeoPriest. Love the sinner,
: hate the sin.
:
: Variety is the spice of life.
:
: As for having one foot on the ground, what
: the heck does that mean? What if a person
: doesn't have any legs? Is such a person by
: default less than the rest of us? Get up off
: your ass might be quite an accomplishment
: for a man with no legs. Should we ban such a
: person? How would they leave? Just drag
: yourself out of here mister.
:
: Ok, I will drag my sorry ass out of here.
: Thought you would never ask. It takes
: courage, or stupidity, to say something that
: goes against the grain of groupthink. Either
: way, maybe we should just kill the
: messenger. Crucify him. Lucky for Osho he is
: dead or he would be in real trouble now.
:
: Now, before everyone starts taking pot shots
: at me let me remind each of you that my peg
: leg is still in the shop. As such I am going
: to have to sit this one out as I don't want
: to be the only one legged man at an ass
: kicking party.
:
: I may be a dumbass but I am not stupid. No
: I'm knot.
:
: Hey, get your own rope.
:
: One more thing. If it would make anyone feel
: better I like Cadillacs.
:
: ButchO
:
: "o say something that goes against the
: grain of groupthink."
:
: Okay, I will say something groupthink
: Butcho. When a man parades around in a big
: car with his guards walking beside the car
: with automatic rifles, I begin to wonder. I
: begin to wonder how deep his purported
: non-attachment goes.
:
: love,
: rat

i live in the land of osho (now) -- southern oregon. i know people who knew of him, and some who followed him. i moved here after his ashram was scattered to the four winds, so to speak.
there's two sides to every story, and then there's the truth, as the ojibway would say. however...seems to me his guru path was also, from what some of the reported circumstances say, an example of how 'power corrupts'.
goes back to the daoist principle of not leading.... but osho was from what i understand definitely 'leading'.
