: And in fact there is no way to tell
: if anything is really wrong. Unless you
: know a way?
:
: ------------
:
: No. I don't know a way, rat. But were I to
: restrict my freedom to declare
: "wrongness," that would make me
: less content.
:
: Therein, perhaps, lies the difference in our
: respective practices.
:
: Hi Steve
:
: I don't have any fundamental restrictions.
: My only interest is in enjoying myself.

: rat,
:
: Said the pedophile to the man in blue.
:
: ButchO
:
: Maybe you enjoy that sort of thing Butcho,
: but I do not.

:
: Greetings rat,
:
: It seems to me what Butch0 was pointing to
: is, without a fundamental conscience we tend
: to be a psychopath.
:
: Perhaps it might help us in what is posted
: here is not to be taken personally.
:
: in peace,
: gar
:
:
:
: I don't take it personally gar.
:
: What I would point out is that different
: folks enjoy themselves in different ways.
: When I do what is in my best self-interest
: (what I most enjoy) it does not appear to
: harm others any more
: than when I don't act in my best
: self-interest.
:
: I don't enjoy doing what Butcho described,
: it does not seem to be in my best self
: interest.
:
: By the way, Butcho seems to think he can
: behave selflessly. I suspect this is
: self-deception.
:
: Laozi: "Why do I put my agenda aside?
: It is simply to get what I want."
:
: What I want and what Butcho wants might not
: be the same.
:
: love,
: rat
:
:
: rat,
:
: I think you want your cake and eat it too.
:
: Yes, I can behave selflessly. I can also act
: selfishly. I can act in many ways. There is
: a time and a season for every type of
: acting.
:
: It is ok to be grumpy at times. All joy and
: no grumpiness makes rat a dull boy. I feel
: your pain.
:
: I want World Peace.
:
: As for what steers us. I would say that one
: of the best guides is getting in tune with
: the vibrations of the way of our own innate
: Being. With our own higher self. Our
: unconditioned or original self. I think
: there is a lot to be said for mantras. Bach
: and Mozart. Gregorian Chant. And of course
: the Beach Boys. Beatles too.
:
: I'm digging those good vibrations. Good,
: good, good, good vibrations. All you need is
: love.
:
: If it don't resonate you must acquit.
:
: Hope you get to feeling better soon.
:
: ButchO
:
:
:
: No problem Butcho. I suspect you are
: deceiving yourself when you say you can act
: selflessly. I understand; we all want to be
: special. And like you, I am better at
: seeing the dirt in my brother's eye, than
: seeing the mud
: pie in my own.
:
: love,
: rat
:
: rat,
:
: Technically speaking you are of course
: correct. "I" cannot act selflessly
: for to be selfless there is no
: "I". At least not in the
: conventional sense. Not in the separate
: sense. Nothing is separate from the whole
: except in thinking it so.
:
: ButchO
:
You might be right Butcho, but if you are, I am not capable of understanding what you are saying. When I was in combat and the man next to me was suddenly killed, it made no sense to me to think he did not have a certain degree of separation from me. It still does not make sense to me today. But maybe I am wrong and will some day understand what you are talking about.
love,
rat
