Rat, to give you an example of how different our experience is, a few years ago I'd read Lü Dong Bin's Hundred Character Tablet, "Nurturing energy, *forget words* and guard it; conquer mind and do non-doing". So had been several weeks exploring that, staying with wordless reality (Loved One out of town).
One day I had to go into the city for something, and as I drove into town I was gobsmacked by words, words EVERYWHERE, on street signs, storefronts, bill boards;on people's t-shirts, jackets and bill caps, words literally e v e r y w h e r e I looked. Had never really noticed before, ignored them, but I saw that people living in cities are constantly bombarded by words.
Little surprise then, seeing this, that wordlessness or "quiet mind" seems obscure or strange to them.
Our experiences in many ways form us, inform us. Thus differences seem so understandable, not right or wrong, just different.
