Cousin gar,
I had a local politician come by the house today. Ex Sheriff turned State Senator. Good ol' Boy. Not like "the" gool OldBoy, but like so many good ol' boys that have crossed my path on my journey through this life. Full of BS. That's Butcho Shit. Yeah, I'm full of shit too, imagine that.
Well, at least I ain't runnin' for somethin' pretendin' to be somethin' I'm not. Told me he couldn't be bought. I told him he must be a saint and could I get a picture of him walkin' on water. Looked at me kinda weird. Then proceeded to tell me both his greatgranddaddy's had lived in our County. I told him I had lived here for 14 years and I was beginning to feel like I was the only one everyone else wasn't related to. Why it is cousin this and cousin that, and don't forget cousin BillyBob. People don't even bother with divorces here much anymore. Why should they? Even after they get the devorce they are still related. All in the family and then some.
Told me he was against abortion. I told him I was against incest. Looked at me kinda funny again so I asked him what his stance was on the Abortion. He was agin' it. I asked him for any reason, he said any. So I told him that was mighty charitable of him as there have been over 50 million abortions in the good ol' US of A over the past 30 years or so. And I know that him bein' the good Christian man of God Most High that resides at his Church every Sunday for an hour or more will give him an attaboy for giving his job to one of the 50 million if they had not been aborted. And his car. And his house. There was that weird look again. Of course no one wants his wife but I didn't bring her up. I was tryin' to be the friendly. You know me. 100% good ol' boy.
But he believes in less government interference. Leave them Corporations alone. Of course tellin' Steve who he can marry, well that is a government job. I asked him about the recent not so Supreme Court inDecision to not limit the amount of money Corporations can give to politicians. He said that Corporations had the right to participate in the political process. Curious that. Our concepts have rights? Rights we don't even give ourselves. Rights we take from ourselves and sell to the highest bidder. I asked him how much the political process is currently going for. Funny look again. I then told him that it sure does make me feel proud to live in the country with the best legal system money can buy. May as well make our political system the envy of the world while we're at it. But he assured me he isn't for sale.
Everything is for sale except for me and my monkey.

I told him he must be the next comin' of Jesus or something. He was flattered but said he was just another Baptist. God save us.
I don't much believe in America anymore. The Dream I believe in. The Reality sucks. If you don't like it then change it. Or better yet, why don't you just leave. Go back to where your people came from. They were Native Americans. Guess I am stuck here. I can't please everyone, so I, gotta please myself. Just as soon as the Whites give California back to the Latinos then they will turn it back over to us Indians. Right!
We live fractured lives. Fractured within ourselves and one from the other. One from the seeming other. United we stand, divided we fall. It's fallin' time. Half-informed biased bloggers make the news and Fox screws the pooch. Unbiased news my missouri mule.
Yeah, I am feelin' a little real today. Not cynical, just real. Republicans are cynics. Democrats are realists. Put another way. Republicans think man is just no damn good. Except for them of course. The power elite pretending to be one of the boys pretending to be one of the power elite. Nothing more pathetic than a poor Republican. Obama wants to take their guns away.
Democrats on the other-hand also think man is no damn good. But, and this is a big butt, a Democrat keeps hopin'. Hopping. From one subject to the next.
Of course I oversimplify but New York time is short even here in the Ozarks. Republicans and Democrats are the yin and the yang of American politics. One can't exist without the other. Bedfellows. Incestuous even.
Most of us are bastards or b###hes. Very few saints amongst us. Sinners, pretty much one and all. How come I can say bastards and not b###hes. Funny that.
... maybe the Earth will move through some sort of energy field that will increase the awareness level of all of us at once. This moving in small increments towards a hoped for critical mass doesn't seem to hold much promise. Time is a wasting. Until whatever I chop wood and carry water best I know how. And for an approach shot to an elevated green protected in front by a water hazard I usually take one extra club all other things being equal.
