Having a look at translations of ddj 38 sentence one - most translators read shang de interpreting shang as high... highest but shang can also describe a temporarily before... and xia can also describe a temporarily after... -- interesting differing point of view... makes a lot of sense to me... cannot imagine that for Laozi degrees of virtue are existing... i think: his "de" is power for integration ... to see and to practice "the being a part of the whole" -- if de is a "bu" de then one succeed in "you" de... --- thereafter: if de is a "letting go bu" de then one succeed in "wu" de... ---
