rat,
Just start talking about the possibility of there being a God and you will immediately be put on the "Shit List".
No brag, just fact.
Start a post about "God" and I promise not to leave you hanging for more than a day or two.
It is my opinion that most here started out believing in a God. But that most have fallen away from such a belief, not because of proof that there is no God, but because a "so-called" Christian(s) hurt them at some time in the past.
I am suggesting that maybe we have thrown the baby out with the dishwater. If we have wouldn't it be tragic if we let the baby die?
I have been accused of being a "Latent Christian" here before. Perhaps I am. I know I have been thinking a lot about it lately. Today there is more scientific evidence than at any time in history that our Universe had a beginning. The Big Bang. The Eastern concept of the Universe is that it is eternal. If not as a one time event, as an oscillating one. Reincarnation if you will. But modern Science has ruled out an oscillating Universe. Not enough energy or mass. Our Universe is a one time event that had a beginning, and will have an end. Unless something "Super" natural steps in and changes the natural course of events. The longest lasting stars burn for about 80 Billion years. 80 Billion years might be a long time in dog years, but compared to Eternity it is a blink.
I am finding it harder and harder to believe that it just happened. That there was or is not some kind of a Creator that existed before our Universe did. I see design everywhere I look. What to me amounts to nothing less than the fingerprints of the Tao on everything, the fingerprints of the Creator, of God if you will.
