If I were a teacher and there were such a child in my class, my message to that child would be something like this:
"You are excellent no matter what you score in this test. Your excellence does not depend on how many questions you get right or wrong. No one or no thing can diminish you, because you are whole and complete just as you are.
If we can improve your skills in this area, however, life may be easier for you in the future. You may be able to do and get more of the things you'd like to do and get.
So, let's see if you can do better this time than last time. And if not, we'll try again--and maybe then you'll do better."
