Prop 8 was an attempt by the Religious Right to get rid of what we Californians had already admitted into law - that gay couples could have the right to get married and be as miserable as heterosexual couples.
You would have laughed at their tv ads...... Sorry you didn't get to see them. One had a little girl coming home from school with a book titled "Princess Marries A Princess." I guess their ads were enough to scare the bejeeses out of the bible thumpers: "I ain't raisin' no fag!!!"
Another interesting ad campaign was for prop 4. Again, the Religious Right wanted to make any girl under the age of 18 have to get her parent's permission to abort a pregnancy. Their most wide-spread ad showed a sleezy guy saying he could have sex with an underage girl and no one would ever find out - cause if she got pregs he could just get her to abort.
Gotta love California. At least we've passed some non-laws that cause most of Amerika to lose sleep at night. Well, except for our gov Schwartzanigger and those who screamed for prop 8.
But we did pass prop 2 - giving farm animals elbow room in their cages.
