Hi Steve-
I voted no on 8. I agree that consenting adults should be able to do whatever they want - and others should keep their noses out of their business.
But.... The religious freaks will always poke their noses in, so maybe there's a better way to solve the gay marriage issue?
If people want to form a family and get the benefits society has to offer them, then attack the laws preventing that from happening? Create a "household" initiative instead of a "marriage" one? Those who live under the same roof and pool their incomes become a "household" - whether they're roommates, parent and child, man and woman or man and man. Nobody's business what they do in their bedrooms.
Also.... There are lots of legal ways to get around the "marriage" laws. Joint bank accounts, power of attorney, beneficiaries, etc.
Doesn't seem like we need "marriage" in the traditional sense. Of course, some people get off saying "that's my husband (wife)." And there's all those wedding gifts.
