I do urge boycotts,
: including a boycott of the Olympics (which
: always rapes its host city in the end,
: anyhow--see this month's The Progressive ).
:
: Is there no middle way possible for Tibet?
:
boycott was a weapon of fascism--- do you remember?
What we have to do is to stigmatize each way of violence.
Boycott is a way of violence.
Olympic games serve for understanding between people, help to improve networks.. i think that each try to stop them is an expression of a spirit against peace and humanity.
I am happy to have heard that the Dalai Lama does not support the idea of boycott.
Interesting too:
In spring 1998 the Lalai-Lama has declared, that he dont like to have a successor...
because he thinks democracy to be the best form of government:
He thinks that an institution established 600 years ago having lost its implication in modern times should be abandoned logically.
