Thank you for the correction! My efforts at Chinese are deplorable.
It is hard for me to look at Tibet's history and not say they were stifled and oppressed by a theocratic feudal system, where even the reading of a book required permission. The Chinese have brought to the country plumbing, electricity, and education, something that the monks had no interest in doing.
Having said that, there is no excuse for the way the Chinese have treated Tibet and are treating Tibet. As such, I do urge boycotts, including a boycott of the Olympics (which always rapes its host city in the end, anyhow--see this month's The Progressive).
Is there no middle way possible for Tibet?
