Steve,
Are you advocating against taking responsibility for one's life?
gar's question about why some people cultivate and some don't. I don't know. So, I said, "Some people do, and some don't". I do not claim to know why. With that said I still say that the only life worth living is the examined life. I've lived both ways and I highly recommend the latter.
There is only one way... Yes, but you didn't read the rest of the sentence... but there are many places along that way. Each of us has a unique perspective of the whole elephant in the room. My favorite part is the skin. Google "Blind Men and the Elephant".
Perhaps you should Google "Santana Dharma". It might help you to read about the Mother of our World's Religions, Santana Dharma. A religion and philosophy that dates back in written form at least 6,000 years. The eternal natural law is universal. There is only one path. But it is viewed differently by different traditions and individuals. No two of us are at exactly the same place on the path, but we are all on the same path. Everything is interconnected.
There are many taos, but only one eternal Tao. A one that is greater than one, but undivided. A unitive one. There is no other such unitive one, there is only one whole that is greater than the sum of its parts. There may be more than one universe in a physical sense, but there is only one whole. The whole is manifold, not monolithic. Call it God, Allah, Tao, Great Spirit in the Sky, I AM THAT I AM, all just names for that which is beyond naming.
There is a difference between rebelling against those that would force their opinion down others throats, and mocking those that speak their truth openly.
If you are feeling any heat it is due to the friction of your own original nature trying to break through your conditioning. You can continue to demonize me if you like, but until you are willing to deal with your own demons you will remain disenfranchised where mine are concerned.
