This truth is deeply touching. I know it's true because the opposite is also true.
For me, it is better to remove the assassin's gun or their bullet, than to watch the destruction the assassin will cause.
I don't think Hitler or Charles Manson could have been swayed or stopped by the prospect of the love of their victims.
Disempowering those who are beyond love so that others who are denied love can find it is valid to me.
Who am I to judge? I am me. I see, I hear, I feel. The choice I make submits me also to judgement. I know how hypocrisy fills my stance. The alternative is equally hypocritical.
I don't blame the Chinese. But whether it is fear of violence, or fear of spiritual impurity, that allows madmen to wreak havoc, then compliance is consent, and partnership to crime to which a population is also forcibly co-opted.
The point of being free to choose, is being free to choose. I would rather be a Tibetan or provincial Chinese who knew that someone outside my own network cared enough to contribute to my freedom, than a person enslaved by a corrupt system feeling the permanent indifference of a purer love.
