: Thanks, josef. A few personal observations, if I may.
:
: First, I'm not at all interested in 'liberation' or 'enlightenment.'
: Whenever it enters my mind that maybe it would be nice to be liberated from
: something, or to be 'enlightened' (the Mother of All Egocentric,
: Egomaniacal Monster-from-Hell Concepts--this idea of 'being enlightened'),
: I slap my face and go back to doing the dishes. Or I cut my chin shaving.
: Or I go do some volunteer work somewhere.
:
: I think there are two fundamental delusions in the world: (1) that there
: is a fundamental problem, anywhere; and (2) that there is something to be
: liberated from. Clinging to these delusions brings misery and suffering
: into the world.
:
: But even that's not a fundamental problem. Certainly something for all of
: us to work on--in our many and wondrous ways--but not a fundamental
: problem. :)

Hi, Steven,
Agree wanting enlightenment as ambition is simply spiritual materialism, self-serving in a deceptively pretty guise. But the leaning toward optimum functionality, to clear seeing and harmonious, peaceful contentment is a natural one, imo. And in the end, I think that's what all this is about. Some (myself included) see the way to that in cultivation and meditation, like a recipe. Others, like yourself, don't see the need or feel that's the way to go, or that there's any need to have a "way". That we each in sincerity respond and resonate differently to things is just so, and I see no problem at all in it. I've come to "see" and appreciate your perception much better in the past weeks as you spoke more of it. It's good to let it all in, imo, no grand & final conclusions needed. Enough to sincerely continue to see as well as possible, stay attentive, real and open, respectful of all, and let the cosmic chips fall where they may. :-)
