zdoom freezes

please help me out:
Whenever I start zdoom, it freezes on the startup screen and keeps hanging. I just can't seem to find out what causes zdoom to freeze. Anybody got an idea? Maybe someone could mail me his zdoom.cfg so I can compare to mine. Thanx!!
I've got doom2 1.9, zdoom 1.22, and all the required dll's in the same directory.
