How I became a Winona fan

Posted by Paul on July 23, 2002, 1:45 pm

On friday night, I got to see Mister Deeds which I thought was a pretty good movie. Sandler and Winona's characters really had some chemistry. I thought the movie ended off really well and then a thought suddenly occured to me, "I really loved the way Winona Ryder played that character......wait a second, I've liked the last 4 or 5 Winona Ryder movies that I've seen." So then the next day I went to go rent the Age of Innocence and Winona just blew me away with her portrayal of May Welland. I am absolutely convinced nobody could have pulled that part off half as well as Winona Ryder. And as I thought back to the last three movies I've seen of her (the previous two that I have mentioned and Girls, Interrupted) I was just in awe of the incredible range she has as an actress. I respect her for taking on tough, diverse roles and admire her for turning her characters into bueatiful women with just the perfect amount of depth and sincerity for each unique part that she plays. Wow, I'm glad to have finally realized Winona Ryder as Roger Ebert described her once, "one of the best actresses of her generation." (that might not be verbatim) I just wanted to share that with you guys, add to the support for Winona has she tries to get through this ordeal (we support you Winona cause we all know that you are a incredible person) and add to the support of any Saks boycott. Saks SUCKS!!!!!
