Posted by Julia on 3/8/2005, 10:40 pm, in reply to "sick Puppy" My sister had this problem with her puppy, Colorado, USA. He had a particular blockage in his intestine....no fault of the breeder/environment. The same problem, at a young age. An exploratory surgery was done for lack of anything else. Turns out Ike had a telescoped intestine, they corrected it with surgery, after all diagonistics. Good thing they did..... IMHO, I'd have an ultrasound done, or at least, barium study done..... If you go for a barium study vs an ultrasound, a surgery to correct a blockage can more easily be done without barium. Don't want to scare you, but mostly Weims want to EAT......and RUN.......not at the same time.....(give me a heart attack....what with bloat and torsion....)

My current Weim runs fast and LONG, and we cannot keep Any weight on him.....but that's a lot different than a lack of appetite, and a sustained lack of appetite.

: Hey
:
: My Weim is about 5 1/2 mths old. since I got him from the states I have lot's
: of problems with loss of appetite and not wanting to drink water. This last for
: a few days and then he finally eats again and is healthy for a while.
: Unfortunatly this only lasts for a week or so and he's back into not eating.
: His stool is sometimes loose but not all the time. He also experiences joint
: pain and weakness in his hind legs once he's sick.
:
: If anybody has and Idea please let me know.
