no special yogurt, just any old yoplait or dannon or store brand will do.

: I did not know that!!! To be honest she does not pee a lot when we are home it is
: only when she is in her cage! She sleeps through the night and maybe only goes
: twice after we get home from work! I think she just pees in her cage for fun or
: something! But I will check it out with my vet. Thanks for everything! Also,
: she does get a lot of yeast infections in her ears. We have a special cleaning
: solution, but I didn't not know about the yogurt! Just regular plain yogurt?
: Or is there some kind of doggy yogurt?

: allison, i don't think the yeast infection could cause a bladder infection but
: more than likely the medication she was given. i don't want to scare you but
: increased thirst and increased urination are signs of diabetes. an initial
: urine
: test can be done easily by the vet and it doesn't hurt. i mention it because
: it's best to go to the vet all prepared for anything and everything. yes,
: allison,
: please keep us posted. we can learn from everyone else's experiences. good
: luck to you and your girl and i hope it's something simple and easy to care for.
: you might want to give her a tbsp of yogurt once a day to counteract the yeast
: infection.

: She is very thristy lately!!! I will call my vet right away and make sure she
: does not have a urinary infection. She just had a yeast infection in her ears
: and was on medication for that. Could that have given her a bladder infection?
: I will let you know the outcome. As for now I have put a blanket back in the
: crate and have chosen to just wash the blankets instead of having her lay in
: drool all day!!! Thank you for your help!!!

: have you had her checked by your vet for urinary infection/bladder infection
: that
: would cause the
: increase in urination. does she seem to have excessive thirst? there are 2
: issues here it seems.
: she pees in her crate and you remove the blanket - so that upsets her and she
: drools. the first
: issue you should tackle is a health check into why she pees so much. in the
: meantime to prevent
: the drooling leave a blanket in there. when our old girl, whoopi, had trouble
: with bladder control we
: simply washed out her blankets when she wet them. let us know what happens.

: My 13 month old weim has been peeing in her crate for some time now and we
: cannot
: get her to stop. She can hold it and has in the past as a pup but for the past
: month she has been going to the bathroom whenever she is in the crate, where it
: is a half and hour or 7 hours. We have always put blankets in the crate with
: her and felt that maybe taking them out would make her stop going. And it
: did...except now when we get home the bottom of the crate is covered in doggy
: droole!!! It is quite gross! There is a layer of wet spit on the bottom of her
: crate and we have no clue how it gets there!!! She also hates going in to the
: crate without a blanket and I will have to force her in, but when there is a
: blanket in there she just walks right in!!! She enjoys licking but it seems a
: little extreme to find so much saliva at the end of the day! Has this happened
: to anyone else? Any advise???
