I'm searching for the illusive parents and/or siblings of JAMES BELL, born 1816 (or as late as 1820) in Washington County. James married Cordelia Burch, d/o Frank and Elizabeth Burch, on 17 April 1849 in Larue County, and the couple had five children (Charles, Edward, Franklin, William Gore, and Elizabeth Ellen) before Cordelia died in 1863. James remarried widow Susan (Rogers) Ross in 1865 in Nelson County; a Thomas Bell was a witness at this marriage (a brother of James perhaps?). They had six children (Joshua, Lillie, Morgan, Susan, Clarence, and Orion H.). James died in 1892 and was buried with his first wife in New Haven. These families lived in Marion and Nelson Counties. Family tradition is that BELL surname may have been "Beall" or even "Abell" at one time, later dropping the letter "A". Does anyone have a JAMES BELL/BEALL/ABELL born around this time who might fit the description of my James? I'll share info on James' descendants. Thanks!
