Infrastructure projects that ARE needed must first be identified. How do you do that? Competent people must be found and appointed to process information gathered by other competent people who report the condition of infrastructure elements. As to how much money appropriated by the federal government for "infrastructure" actually went into infrastructure is directly related to the politics of appropriations as well as "efficiency" of the government body...AT THE LOCAL LEVEL who actually gets to spend the federal funds. Do you want anyone to believe that less government and less taxes will get the job done?
...for infrastructure improvements. This is the second bridge that I can recall was downed by ship traffic. Aside from the need for good maintenance, recognizing the need for improvements and "protection" falls in the area of Federal involvement. Less Government anyone???
Not to delve too deeply into politics (that being the cesspool where I work) but I point out that less than 10% of the last $1.2T infrastructure bill actually went to funding infrastructure improvements.
You can guess where the other $1.1T went. The answer to that question answers the question of the poster.
