The black on her hull is an epoxy coating designed to resist salt water corrosion. It is supposed to be good for twenty years. She is painted in 5N. How that looks in photographs depends on a lot of variables, but let’s not go there. The USS Texas Foundation website and Facebook page are a great source of information. So far only the hull has been repainted in 5N, the upper works are yet to be done.

She is starting to look really sexy again and I can't wait to see the finished product but I'm curious why no traditional anti-fouling red on her lower hull below the boot topping? And who decided to paint her 5-S?
