This one is dated to 2022. A VERY long, involved piece with all the sorry details on what is happening within the Cousteau Society. Seems they are using the bulk of the money they raise to restore her to pursue law suits:

It looks less and less like she will ever be restored. Those naive enough to contribute any money will pay for the Cousteau family to sue itself!
Very tragic.
I THINK the real CALYPSO is going through a rebuiol/restoration ....

That's what I like about this website when people share information.
Cool. Until last year, that was the only Calypso kit I was aware of. And I had one many years ago, which never got built, and which I sold. Late last year, there was a thread here about Gaga 1/700 ships from China. That then got me looking through their stuff, and I found they also offer a Calypso. I got one. Neat little kit of the ship basically in her mid 1960s fit, though other parts are provided for later versions. Using them would require some fairly major surgery to the superstructure, however. I like OOB builds, and did not mind having her 1960s fit, so it proved a simple little six-piece build. Very satisfying, and I am happy to have the subject back in my collection. Your post on the topic then had me wondering, since I now know there is more than one kit of her out there. Thank you.
Decided to look at images of civilian revell ship
models on the internet and a photo came up of the Calyspo kit.
Which model of her did you see, the classic Revell kit, or something else?
Recently seen a model of the Calyspo and made me wonder. Whatever happened to the real Calyspo?
Any one know . Thanks in advance.
