I don't make any $$ on those vids, but Sure am Glad to Help in Helping OTHERS!!
Totally missed those UNREP tensioners during my 'Review', but glad you found them!!!
You building your next?? For me, I have a commission build of an A-6E with folding wings for a fella onboard IOWA who flew those planes during the mid/-late 80s as a B/N...asked if I could build a plane for him....so planes for me all summer long, possibly. GRF has to wait.

I watched your unboxing video eagerly. The instant you pulled out the flight deck, you in the video, and me watching, both recognized what those were together. I was as excited as you. I have not touched them. Good info here for anyone reading also to NOT remove those!
Here's Mario's unboxing video:

JUST Don't Cut those Off!!!!
I was wondering when I got my kit, early this year, why the FD was SO protected in that plastic tray...Now I Know.

Got my 1/700 Magic Factory Gerald Ford kit back on Friday. Nice holiday weekend with nothing scheduled. Saturday AM, the cat got sick. Naturally! Spent the weekend (and a nice sum of money) getting her back to health. However, being self-employed, I took the entire week off to tend to her. In between texts with the vet and doses of medicine, I got to work on my new kit.
To my delight, I found--in the hangar deck assembly--parts Q10 and Q11. They are referred to as: "supply crane status optional parts," and Q10 is illustrated as extending down from the hangar overhead. The placement of Q11 is not shown. It is just shown next to Q10, and indicated as an option. Studying the parts, they obviously attach differently to the overhead. While Q10 hangs down, Q11 is flat against the overhead. I looked up "Ford hangar deck supply crane," and pretty much by sheer luck, one of the first images I got was of Nimitz doing UNREP. Turns out, these parts are the line tensioners for UNREPs. They fold up against the overhead when not in use, and are swung down to a vertical position for use.
I always wondered why UNREP tensioners show up on my destroyers and cruisers, but I have never seen them on a carrier. Now I know.
The upshot--for the diorama builders among you--is that you can do Ford during an UNREP! Two tensioners for the starboard forward elevator opening, and one for the starboard stern opening.
A lovely, quirky little feature! Folks look for/expect all sorts of things from a carrier kit...plane types, tie downs, deck vehicles, and so on. But, UNREP gear is probably not leading any of those lists. For me, this is some insight into the mind of the kit designer. Makes this kit "a little different."
I am loving this build.
