Indeed! For a look at how this might be engineered, see MW's recent (Feb. 19) posting of my build of Trumpeter's Marseillaise. I wish I had had Holmes's and Quinn's review of the kit before I built it (timing can be EVERYTHING in model building nowadays); I would have made a few minor changes and altered my description of the kit to indicate that it was designed as built, not in 1940. For what the new Trumpeter kit might look like, there is a large model, probably about 1:200, of the Georges Leygues in the D-Day Museum in Normandy, France (I visited there in 2011).

Trumpeter has just announced a 1/350 French light cruiser Georges Leygues, in a 1943 fit if you believe the artwork. Very cool!
Hope Trumpeter has taken notice of the review of their 1/350 Marseillaise by Graham Holmes and Martin Quinn on MW.
Yet again, what a time to be a shipmodeler!
