Hmm where do I start . The instructions were written by somebody who was walking backwards for they are all over the place in the sequence of assemblies. Fit was terrible and the photo-etch snapped after two bends to get it right and tight. I disposed of the Trumpeter weapons. Went with Blue Ridge 20mms 3”50s and MK-51s . 40mms were Fine Molds. I painted it overall 5N to depict her service in late war Pacific.
I will assume the 1/700 kit was a scaled down version of their 1/350 kit so probably same problems but on a larger scale. I passed up building the Samek resin 1/700 Texas offering thinking mold injected would be a faster and more simpler build. Boy was I wrong.
Good Luck!
I'm looking for some input. I'm building my trumpeter Texas, according to my research, during WWII she was painted in measure 21, navy blue overall and deck blue on horizontal surfaces (decks), but all the youtube videos I have seen of her she is a lighter gray above the boot topping?? videos are B&W of course, but the hull and upper super structure did not appear to be dark at all? anyway, any suggestions would be good I am going to cross my fingers and get the pontos detail up set for it, hope it works out ok
