I would assume you want a naval crew for the gun. There are Army crews available, but I have not seen Navy.
I just took delivery of the Zimi Models 1/35 quad 40mm Bofors mount kit. At first glance it looks quite nice, I think it will build up to a good looking model.
The ready ammo racks inside the gun tub are provided as photoetched parts. There is a lot of room for ready ammo, which was in four round clips. But the kit only provides 12 four round clips (in styrene) 4 of which will go into the loading chutes of the 4 guns. The kit also provides 48 of what look like empty shell casings. Unless one is modeling the gun in action, I can not think what the empty shell casings are for. But without additional 4 round clips, the tub is going to look empty.
On the kit box it says that metal shells and shell casings are available for separate purchase. I have employed my limited skills to search the internet, but have not found any place where they are listed for sale. Does anyone know where these can be purchased? Or are they just vaporware? They might be a quick opportunity for 3D printing?
Also, has anyone heard of some aftermarket figures to be a gun crew? If a crew were available, you could make use of the empty shell casings.
The kit includes a nice styrene molding of teak deck on which the gun is mounted. It also provides a separate elevated tub for the gun director. Both a Mk 51 and a Mk 57 director are included, so you can go WWII with a blue deck and a Mk 51, or use the Mk 57 with a natural teak deck for the cold war.
