I agree it will be mighty hard to come by a Hughes 269 in 1/700. So much so that I am not going to even try. If I want a chopper, I will content myself with the kit's. I think I will probably not make mine with a chopper anyway, though.
I have an appointment I need to get to soon, so I don't currently have time to post. However, I have spent the last half hour "vacuuming up" links to photos of Calypso at various points in her history. She has had many distinct appearances over her lifetime. Fortunately, she is well photographed. Lots of documentation. Later today, or this evening, I hope to post my links.
It could be also a Bell 47H/J or Aérospatiale SA.319 Alouette III - but certainly not a good reproduction of any of them or even the Hughes 269.
I will wait for the book and decide then, which fit of Calypso I will depict - and if I need a Hughes 269.
I had asked SNAFU if he could make a Hughes 269, but because of the Shapeways rules, it cannot be printed there. It was not a very important helicopter for any navy (served in the Brazilian and Indian navy), therefore, I assume, it would be not very popular with the typical producers (with their own printers) of 1/700 3D printed helicopters.
