Mine measures slightly undersize (about 3/16"), hardly enough to concern me. I scratchbuild anyway, so cutting a couple pieces of sheet styrene in transverse, inserting them at appropriate stations along the hull, is no challenge--but I'll never build mine, (selling stash due to health issues), so if you are looking for this kit, I'm willing to part with mine--WITHOUT an auctioneer's gavel in hand!

There is an old Nandai kit of Kongo over on that auction site, and the box says 1/600 scale, which is what I putter with. The question is whether or not it is truly close to 1/600? It looks to predate the waterline consortium kits, and I know Imai did some 1/600 scale Japanese vessels in 1/600, and later reboxed the as purportedly 1/700. So does anyone have a clue? I have used my Google-fu, and Joe's list of classic ship kits really doesn't answer the question enough for me to get into a bidding war.
