I’m afraid that RN ships have never been Gull Grey which is a USN colour and totally different. The RN colour is BS381C 676 Light Weatherwork Grey which, like most RN colours of the past, is a blue grey.

Italian ships use RAL colours Weatherwork 7001, deck 7031 & flight deck 7016.

My Brandenburg 1/96 scale used a rattle can (duplicolor) auto paint. I use a little darker shade the USN. HMS ships are definitely Gull Grey.
Italian ships look like standard haze grey (visited the Alpino in Baltimore).

Are you sure? They were 2 tone sometime in the 1980s but don't look it now to me.
