My Brandenburg 1/96 scale used a rattle can (duplicolor) auto paint. I use a little darker shade the USN. HMS ships are definitely Gull Grey.
Italian ships look like standard haze grey (visited the Alpino in Baltimore).

Are you sure? They were 2 tone sometime in the 1980s but don't look it now to me.

Note that the hull and superstructure are different shades. The hull is darker than the upper works. Previous Message
