Catalog of General Fittings
IIRC Cartographic had at least a partial copy on microfilm. It is supposed to have detailed drawings for every common fitting used on US Navy ships. Everything from bitts to doors to valves.
I've been grooving on the AFV Club 1/350th LST-1 class model and it's been leading me to research and read up on these neat vessels more than I had previously. I'd posted a set of Booklet of General Plans for the ships last year and have been looking them over again trying to figure out details. Virtually every door on that set of plans is noted as "N.S.T." and I can't figure out what that is short hand for. I've seen WT, NWT, "arch" before, but never NST and I'm stumped. Non Sea Tight?
