you will have to cut out the torpedo bulges which she did not have as built & plate in the holes on both side which I did when kitbashing Revell's 1/429 scale USS Arizona into the USS Tennessee post Pearl Harbor but before major upgrade. every thing between "B" & "Y" turrets have to be scratch built or 3d printed. all aa guns on the main turrets have to be removed.
I'm looking to do it in 350th scale using the Academy kit. I remember Airfix did an article on backdating the 600th scale kit to "as built."
Without knowing which kit, it would be hard to answer this. There is a kit of the 1915 ship in 1/700. If your looking at 1/350 plastic kits, I would say you're looking at a huge amount of work.
Anyone done it? Thoughts? Hints? Tips? Tricks? Links to folk who've attempted it? Bueller?
