I found it's best to habituate and then it doesn't matter. You just don't want to sleep where there's a lot of pitching and you're at the far end (Some of the small boats I was on as a kid we'd go hang out on the master bed when cruising because the waves would pith the bow up and throw us a few inches up off the bed).
Is it better to sleep foreandaft or athwartship?
