Re: Vallejo paints- Future/Pledge
I have found with Vallejo Model Color or Model Air (thinned for airbrushing) that if you add a couple of drops of Future/Pledge Floor Care (or whatever it's called in your particular neck of the woods) to the color cup, roughly a 10% ratio, it gives the paint a durability that does not rub off or pull up with masking tape.
I'm in North Texas. Temps in high 90s -low 100s (35 - 40C). Humidity ~ 50%. Example of the issues: I painted a 50 cal. ammo can, let it dry several hours, picked it up and glued it on the model. Paint rubbed off all the edges. Primer is still there. Total handling time, less than two minutes. My paint options here are limited. Local hobby shops are very limited. Squadron has Tamiya and Vallejo. I miss Polly Scale and Floquil ( I know, not an acrylic, but sure did work well).
Thanks for comments. I'll keep trying, but so far not impressed. How long do the Vallejo paints take to cure? Hours? Day? Weeks?
