Right, wrong or indifferent....... The Montana is a personal project from the owner of Very Fire. It is not being released on any sales or public analysis. Hope it does well and he does more “whim” projects and hopefully we will see that 1/350 Atlanta.
And lest we forget, there is a 1/350 plastic kit coming of never-built BB USS Montana (preorder at Free Time).
Let's guess; for the research / tooling / production effort for that one, there could have been a 4-stacker DD, Hunt Class Destroyer, Atlanta class CL and T-2 tanker...
...which 4 kits' plastic would weigh less than what the 1/350 Montana does, each offer multiple boxings and sell many, many more kits than one never-built BB.
Oh, well, the LST is a for-sure source of joy, here. How about a six-pack...?
The destinies of the British Empire and the United States seem to be tied together by some god-damned things called LST's.
You could make an argument that these ships mattered more than any other ship of their size, and yet the present number of models can be counted on two fingers.
Ditto fleet oilers, which in 1942 counted for more than battleships.
But look! Here's another Graf Zeppelin !
