I read your response and ouch! ;"fevered writing I've stooped to"? "Fevered"?, you're too clever Randy.
You assume nobody correctly interprets your posts, you're a victim through ignorance. I read your post as I always do, and deliberately ignored the slur concerning the American flyers and just about everything else because I found it trivial, except, the third sentence.
You can't resist a childish stab or slash at the Limey's can you Randy. I've been opening SteelNavy since '05 (you weren't around) and have enjoyed the company of some of the most pompous, conceited Blowhards that have ever graced an on-line blog, but you Randy, are a real gem. Look, I don't mean that as a criticism or to offend you, it's just an observation of what you boil down to. I actually thought some time ago that the combination of your ego and assertiveness (boundless!) were the result of some kind of fame and that you actually might be someone of note, so I both googled and IMBD'd you. Disappointingly you don't pop up anywhere, except here. But hey, that goes for the rest of us nobody's as well so fine.
What's an "RN Fanboy" Randy? Is it anything like a USN Fanboy? It probably is so why single it out, this whole site 24/7/365/6 (is that right, or should it be 7/24/365/6?) is a "USN Fanboy", and surprisingly I would't expect all the board are, but never-the-less uncomplainingly put up with it.
I have never come across any member here who "can't get over the fact that the Japs (sic) knocked the snot out of the RN in '41 and '42..". Now come on Randy, that's a load of bullshit and we all know it, but please go back through your thoroughly thorough records and post the evidence. You kind of sunk a little bit low with that dig, kinda down to the level of 'ole SFB's Jack down below. If you want to evoke 'gettin' the snot knocked out of you' let's look no farther than the Yanks at Pearl Harbor, lot of snot went flying there, or Wake Island, The PI, Buna in New Guinea, Kasserine in Tunisia, Italy, The Ardenne, The Eighth Air Force, now that was really getting mucous freed. If it wasn't for a Limey engine to rescue a pretty average airframe it would have been 'Goodnight Dick!'.
But your crowning moment was the perception that the honourable Japanese were being 'tarred' before they deserved to be, well, 'tarred'. Let me bring you up to speed.
In 1937 two Jap sublieutenants began a contest to see who could be the quickest to behead 100 defenceless Chinese civilians with grampa's kitana's. Mukai Toshiaki and Noda Takeshi went at it hammer and tongs and The Japan Advertiser offered a two page spread for the fans back home with regular updates. These two 'likely lads', officers of the Imperial Japanese Army, were having so much fun that they thought what they hey, let's keep going and a beaming Mukai finished with 106, albeit with a sore arm, while a disgruntled Noda had to make do with second at 105.
I don't need to go on, your point is rubbish, the Japs were brutally murdering people from day one. I noticed below as well that others seemed to believe that these people were some kind of paragons of honour, courage and nobility until things started to go dark for them. I guess Americans would like to believe that because it makes their foe in the theatre of war where they didn't have to share victory with any of their pesky allies more worthy of the sacrifice. The plain reality is that Japan in 1941 as a society was feudal, subservient and technologically and culturally backward, and that its military was nothing more than a bunch of medieval sword-swinging spear chucker's, institutionally lacking in the slightest degree of compassion or humanity. It doesn't matter how much you would like to change that, you never will.
It was always going to end the way it did from the moment they dropped that first bomb on Ford Island and they deserved everything they got.
If you Randy or anybody else here attempts to revise history by dignifying Japan's aggression during those years I will post in reponse a graphic example of the fact. I don't care if you or anybody else doesn't like it. When Japan tears down Yakasuni and climbs up on a pedestal and begs for forgiveness for the murder, rape and pillage conducted in the Emperor's name and pays restitution by the billion's- particularly to the 'Comfort Women' - like the jerries have done for the last 70 years, then the 'fevered stooping' will end. Otherwise your just gonna have to kiss my arse.
But we're still friends right, Randy?
