I have built many of those kits as a child and I did not find them difficult, at least not to the point of giving up.
A ten year old would not care one whit about accuracy. They have an active enough imagination to make up for any deficiencies.
As written before: shipping from Asia is actually cheaper than shipping e.g. inside of Denmark or Germany.
I agree that there is the question how to get newbies be interested in ship modelling. This would be unlikely an expensive kit, I agree. But the cheap kits by Western producers are actually the very old, difficult to built kits - many of them 50 years old. At least the ship models they have are of really low quality. These kits are not a good promotion for our hobby. The snap kits produced by some Japanese companies are actually better for that.
