Congratulations, Mardis and good on you!
Best wishes for decades of healthy, happy, thoroughly enjoyable retirement!
I'll be 66 just before Christmas, which is full retirement age for me but I still work full time and intend to keep doing so as long as I'm in good health. I'm lucky enough to like what I do for a living and also can't budget my time worth a damn. I firmly believe that you whither if you retire and statistics show that people die earlier when they retire early. At some point I might scale back and not work full time, but I'll keep working as long as I can in the meanwhile.
Be careful what you wish for. I thought I would have an abundance of time for ship building, but it hasn't worked that way. My wife had a lot of "honey-do's" and since she now has some medical issues, a lot of my time is spent as caregiver. So, retirement hasn't gone as planned. Good luck.
Thanks everyone. Now I have time to build my fleet.
HI.. I retired in 1994 after working 47 years
(4 years U.S. Navy) as a toolmaker.
Now I appreciate it that some continue working
paying my S.S. Your my heroes!
Thank you Bob Platz
Thank a VET!
