The problem these days is you young whipper-snappers have it easy! Moaning and groaning "They don't make a model of USS Bigboote just as she was on 31 November 1952 at 0832" Waaa waaa waaa.
Back my day we had to carve models out of wood with just our fingernails and teeth! And there wasn't any "photo-etch" - we used our own body hair, pulled straight from our manly chests, or an unsuspecting cat or dog!
And plans? Ha! We had to imagine the ship's shape from vague descriptions in newspapers! Yes, real newspapers, the same ones we slept under instead of your ridiculously comfortable "sheets" and "blankets", none of your fancy elecotronicalistic fancy jazzamatazzy whatchamacallits! Hrumph.
