Nowhere near an expert...
but I don't believe you would have all that much trouble if you modeled Lexington in the late 20's to early 30's time frame, before she had the forward portion of her flight deck widened.
There may still be some small issues remaining that you would have to consult a real expert for.
Always liked the look of Lexington in those early days, and if you look at the flight deck markings in those early years you will see something rarely seen on Lex and Sara models.
I never understood why Trumpeter modeled Lexington in a rig that she only carried for a month or so. Then again if I had my way, all of the prewar carriers would have mahogany decks and the yellow striping, representing the most "colorful" era in USN history.
I was wondering if the experts on this board could assist me.
Is it possible to modify the Trumpeter 1/350 SARATOGA kit into a LEXINGTON? Are they very different?
I'd love to have a LEX in 1930's fit (like the Trumpeter SARA) but as you all know, Trumpeter modeled their LEX in 1942 fit (no 8" gun turrets, etc.).
Thanks for any assistance...
