For example - would they have been fitted with catapults and aircraft/ Would the cat. have been a cross deck system - displacing boats from the aft superstructure (?) or would it have been a turret mounted system?
War time mods would certainly involved the removal of the cat, and aircraft - what would have been installed in their place? Would the 6" secondaries have been replaced by 5.25" secondaries as was proposed for the Nelsons? Don't forget, had these ships been built the Nelsons would not have been built, so the mods that were introduced for them would not necessarily have been the same for the original ships.
I'll send you some plans.
: Since the Nelsons were essentially a cut-back
: version of the G3 design and the Nelsons
: received no modification I can't see why the
: G3s would have.
: Now if the war hadn't started till the mid
: to late 40s it's possible they would have
: been upgraded, after Hood, Barham, Malaya
: and Repulse but it's likely that the money
: to do this and build the KGVs and Lions
: wouldn't have been available and the new
: ships would have got priority.

: Hi All
: If the British G3 and N3 capital ships had
: been completed for the Royal Navy AND served
: into WW2 , what modifications do you think
: they would have received on the back of
: experience ?
: Obviously radar and AA guns would be most
: likely but do you think they would have
: received a KGV class style block bridge
: instead of the Nelson style they would have
: been built with ?
: Any help is greatly appreciated , as I am
: about to embark on a 1/700 scale adventure
: wanting to complete G3 as if she was in
: service in WW2 ...
: Thanks in advance
